A kinder way to say “thanks for meeting with me”
Why it can fall flat
“thanks for meeting with me”
Your thanks may get skimmed past because everyone sends the same line, and it never says what the meeting gave you. You likely want to show real appreciation and that the time paid off.

Thanks for the time today, Kartik. Going through the schedule together cleared up a few things I'd been unsure about.
What to avoid
- Pasting the same thanks into every message makes it feel empty, so name one specific thing that helped.
- Piling on praise or thanking them three times weakens the message, since one clear thank-you is enough.
- Adding promises or next steps you haven't agreed to, just to seem keen, can create obligations you didn't intend.
- Hiding a complaint or request inside the thank-you makes the gratitude look insincere.
- Lines like “I know you're super busy” can suggest you think you wasted their time.
