What to say instead of “I received your escalation”
Why it can fall flat
“I received your escalation”
“Received” turns your reply into a stamped receipt, which feels cold, formal and a little defensive. You likely want to show you're taking it seriously and will look into it, without conceding the complaint yet.

Suits a manager who passed on a complaint, since it shows the matter is in hand before you have answers.

Handy as a quick, human text when a client has pushed an issue urgently and a long email would feel slow.

What to avoid
- Opening with “Per my last email” or similar phrases, which sound like a rebuke.
- A reply that is only a receipt, with no sign of what happens next, leaves the sender guessing.
- Saying “I understand you're upset” before you've looked at what happened can ring hollow.
- Agreeing or apologizing for the problem before you know the facts commits you too early.
- Copying in more people than needed makes the reply feel like a counter-escalation.
